The X-ray tubes are usually custom designed for specific original equipment manufacturer (OEM) accounts.
Typical products are described below, and can be supplied as glass envelopes, potted, or packaged devices to customer specifications.
Bare Tubes (X-ray tube only)
These are the simplest products manufactured by XTG.
The tube is shipped with no post finishing. They are typically found in products where the customer provides the integration. Tubes are available with and without Be transmitting windows.
- 1500 Windowless Series
a highly popular and proven windowless industrial x-ray tube
specifically designed for industrial and medical fluoroscopy as well as bone densitometry applications
- 1600 Windowless Series
an 80kV X-ray tube designed to be operated in a negative (-80kV), positive (+80kV) or
bi-polar (+/- 40kV) mode operation. Intended for both medical and industrial imaging application, the series 1600 features the capacity for small spot size as well as excellent protection necessary when
operating at high potential. Included with each x-ray tube is the Oxford Instrument's exclusive pin shielded getter designed to maximize operational lifetime.
- 1800 Windowless Series
a 100kV X-ray tube designed to be operated in a 60/40 kV bi-polar mode
of operation. Intended for both medical and industrial imaging application, the series 1800 features a small spot size as well as excellent protection necessary when operating at high potential
Grounded (target) Anode x-ray Tubes
Again no post finishing but the grounded target, negative gun configuration. Grounded target designs are often preferred where customers are interested
in high power output such as real-time measurements in strip mills. These systems are often sold with integral water cooling facilities.
- 7000 Series
This grounded target end window glass body
tube is built specifically for X-ray imaging systems. The design has been improved to meet the exacting requirements in the filed of medical imaging.
- Mini Focus Products
These tubes can be supplied as glass
envelopes, potted in silicone compound or in a packaged form depending on design and operating conditions. These tubes have a positive anode (target), grounded filament configuration and a choice of either
10 mil or 5 mil thick Be transmission window.
- GT3050 Series
The GT (grounded target) model is
designed for high flux applications where spot sizes above 1mm are acceptable. In use for many industrial applications
Silicone Potted x-ray Tubes
Simple low power, high
reliability, X-Ray tubes typically found in bench top X-Ray fluorescence as well as thickness gauging in paper and films. Potted tubes are sealed in a silicone material making handling and cooling easily achievable in a compact environment.
TF 1000 Series a highly popular and proven side window x-ray tube. Currently in use for many
industrial applications, the TF1000 series features an electron gun assembly packaged in a silicone formed material.
Packaged x-ray tubes
Packaged tubes are similar to potted
tubes with the notable exception of greater power, and higher operating potential. Typically up to 100W and 50kV tubes are found in off-line thickness gauging and printed circuit board inspection systems, as well as XRF and some radiography applications.
XTF 5000 Series One of our
most popular products, the 5000 series is a
highly stable, reliable side window X-ray tube. The glass envelope is packaged in a lead-lined housing providing x-ray shielding to 0.25 m R/hr at 2 inches. The tube is also filled with a special heat dissipating oil to maximize longevity.
